Image
Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has said he was not perturbed by plots of five aggrieved governors of the party, popularly known as G-5, to endorse presidential candidates of other political parties. He said power comes from God and he was confident that no man could arrogate to himself the powers that God alone has. This is as  the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said contrary to media reports, the opposition party was yet to take a decision on sanctioning the five governors for alleged anti-party activities. The G-5 governors, comprising  Governors Nyesom Wike, Samuel Ortom, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Okezie Ikpeazu and Seyi Makinde of Rivers, Benue, Enugu, Abia and Oyo states, respectively, alongside their supporters, have been on a warpath with the PDP leadership and Atiku, following the nomination of Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as vice presidential candidate. Fiscal Activities That Shaped Nigeria’s Economy In 2022.

Image
The Nigerian fiscal space had the economy crawling and reeling under huge debt impacts and rising petrol subsidy. The latest data released by the Debt Management Office (DMO) showed the total Public Debt Stock, representing the Domestic and External Debt Stocks of the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN), the 36 State Governments, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was N42.84 trillion ($103.31 billion) as of June 30, 2022. The comparative figures for March 30, 2022, was N41.60tr ($100.07bn). The Total External Debt Stock was $40.06bn (N16.61tr) as of June 30, 2022, while the Total Domestic Debt Stock was N26.23tr ($63.24bn) due to new borrowings by the FGN to part-finance the deficit in the 2022 Appropriation Act. Even with these huge debts, Nigeria still burns over N300bn monthly on petrol subsidy through a process that many commentators have said is corruption infested. Nollywood Actor and Former Presidential Aspirant of the Labour Party, Fadiru Joseph blasts Peter Obi.

Image
Nollywood actor and former presidential aspirant of the Labour Party, Fadiru Joseph, has blasted Peter Obi and called him an unstable character who cannot be trusted with leadership at any level. Fadiru was on the AIT program on Saturday, where he described Obi as a product of wicked and heartless branding and PR by those who hate Nigeria and do not wish the nation well. Fadiru said he was forced to step down for Peter Obi, hoping that he is better and will live true to his words, but it’s obvious that he is a fraud. Peter has remained a terrible person; at least, the crisis in the Labour Party has exposed him and his inability to manage any organization. We recall that when he left APGA, Obi said it was Willie Obiano and Victor Umeh that chased him out of the party. He ran to the PDP and introduced division and factions, destabilizing the PDP in Anambra State; he ran away, saying it was the cost of delegates that chased him out. He is now in the Labour Party, and the party is already ...
