FCMB offers customers loans for airtime purchase.

First City Monument Bank has unveiled an innovative product called FCMB Airtime Advance, which allows customers to borrow funds from their bank accounts. A statement from the bank said it allowed borrowings ranging from N200 to N5,000 directly from their bank accounts for the purpose of purchasing airtime, regardless of their financial status. “This solution aims to provide immediate relief to customers in urgent need of airtime for phone calls, text messages, and other essential communication activities,” it stated. With FCMB Airtime Advance, customers would no longer have to worry about how to top up their airtime, the bank stated. It said the introduction of FCMB Airtime Advance marked a significant milestone for the bank. Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, aka Nedu, has warned single people against believing that marriage no longer works as being spread on social media. Nedu, who got divorced from his wife last year, gave the advice on the latest episode of The Honest Bunch audiovisual podcast co-hosted by him. He said that the people whose marriages don’t work have the loudest voice on social media, noting that the many whose marriages are thriving would rather keep it private. Subsidy: Petrol Hits N1,200 Per Litre In Ebonyi.

The pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly called petrol, on Tuesday, increased to N1,200 per litre in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, following the declaration of the removal of subsidy on the product by President Bola Tinubu. Scores of residents, who decried the high cost of petrol in the country, said they have since been engaged in panic buying. Some residents were also seen with their cans as many filling stations were under lock. A resident, Darlington Okeke, said panic buying was occasioned by Tinubu’s statement during his inauguration on Monday. Okeke stated that petrol in filling stations was sold between N800 and N1,200, against N230 per litre. Another resident, Ibrahim Ali, said black marketers sold a litre of fuel for N1,500, adding that the development was causing panic buying and frustration among residents. The Department of the State Security Service, DSS, Tuesday denied reports making the round that its officials engaged in a fight with the officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over Lagos property. Reports have emerged this morning that DSS prevented officials of the anti-graft agency from gaining access to their office in Ikoyi, Lagos. It was reported that the said building was barricaded by the secret agents and an armored tank parked at the front of the building. Reacting to the report in a statement sent to Vanguard, Peter Afunanya PhD fsi, Public Relations Officer, Department of State Services, faults the report, noting that DSS was only occupying its facility where it is carrying out its official and statutory responsibility. He advised the general public to dismiss the purported report, noting that DSS was never in a fight with EFCC. Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Chairman of Daar Communications has reportedly died. According to reports, Dokpesi, who was a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) died at the age of 71 in Abuja. A source who spoke with our correspondent revealed he died in an Abuja hospital after he suffered a stroke. This reportedly happened after the recent Ramadan fast. Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State says he is not afraid of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and is willing to submit himself to the anti-graft agency if called upon. He also reiterated that he is open to scrutiny because he has not soiled his hands nor have anything to hide. It was an atmosphere of excitement on Thursday, as people from all walks of life converged at the Akin Deko Auditorium Ugbowo Benin City, to attend the 279th Inaugural lecture series of the University of Benin which was delivered by  Professor Clement Atewe  Ighodaro.
