Videos: Invest in education not religion, OLF Boss punches FG.

Image
President Bola Tinubu's recent approval of ₦90 billion for the 2024 hajj subsidy has sparked controversy and concerns among Nigerians, particularly in light of the nation's pressing educational challenges. This hefty allocation raises questions about the government's priorities and its commitment to addressing critical issues in the education sector. Nigeria's education system has faced numerous setbacks, with low-quality education, inadequate infrastructure, and a shortage of qualified teachers.  Despite these issues, the government has chosen to allocate substantial funds to religious activities instead of investing in the education sector.  According to UNESCO, Nigeria has the highest number of out-of-school children globally, with an estimated 10.5 million children not attending school. This highlights the urgent need for increased funding and resources to improve the country's educational standards. While religion is a personal matter, the government's ro...

Image
The President of One Love Foundation and the Father of Nigerian students, Chief Dr. Patrick Osagie Eholor otherwise known as Ultimate Equal has condemned the assault on Nigerian Army staff at Banex in Abuja recently. A recent video circulating on social media depicting a group of civilians assaulting two Nigerian Army personnel at Banix Plaza in Abuja is deeply concerning and must be addressed by the authorities to promote peace and unity between the civilians and the military. Selective Justice: The Senate's Unbalanced Approach to Punishing Drug Traffickers and Corrupt Politicians.

Image
In a deeply concerning move, the Senate recently passed a bill mandating the death sentence for drug traffickers. However, this same body has failed to pass a similar bill targeting corrupt politicians, a decision that has drawn heavy criticism for its apparent double standards. An examination of relevant statistics highlights the severity of both problems in our society and calls into question the Senate's approach to addressing them. According to data from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), drug trafficking has been on the rise in recent years, with an alarming increase in both the volume and variety of drugs being trafficked. In the past year alone, the NDLEA seized over 500 tons of various illicit substances, underscoring the urgent need to combat this problem. However, corruption remains equally, if not more, pervasive in our society. A recent report by Transparency International ranked our country among the top 20 most corrupt nations globally, with corruptio...

Educational Injustice: Constituency Representatives Fail to Address Dismal School Conditions

Image
In a shocking display of neglect, schools in numerous constituencies across the state continue to suffer from inadequate infrastructure and subpar learning environments. This unfortunate reality has forced children to endure inhospitable conditions, with many students left with no choice but to sit on cold, hard floors during lessons. The failure of elected House of Representatives members and Local Government chairman to address these issues raises serious questions about their commitment to the well-being and development of the next generation. The lack of proper school buildings and facilities not only hampers the learning process but also poses a significant risk to the health and safety of students. Poor lighting, inadequate ventilation, and unsanitary conditions contribute to an atmosphere that is neither conducive to learning nor appropriate for the development of young minds. In an age where education plays a crucial role in determining the future prospects of individuals and t...
