Professor Julius Iyasele promises to Federal government.
Since inception, Tertiary institutions have proven to be great Citadel of knowledge, research and empowerment . Education has no doubt contributed immensely to the birth of Splendid innovations which projects Nigeria in a good light, amongst the Nations of the world. The recent Strike action by Academic Staff Union of Universities, lasted for 8 months leaving devastating effects on both Students and Lecturers.
Daily Feed News reported that Prof. Julius Uche Iyasele Ph.D, M.SC, B.SC, Chartered Chemist, FMSN, MCSN, MIPAN, who is the Former Vice Chairman Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Benin Branch and The Current Head, Department of Chemistry University of Benin, to discuss the aftermath of the ASUU Strike. On arrival at his office, Prof. Julius Gave us a warm welcoming as we engaged in the interview session.
Dr. Julius is a well experienced Lecturer, Researcher and Community service provider, with over 25 years experience in the field of Chemistry. In 1984, He obtained his B.Sc. (Hons) Biochemistry, Second Class Lower Division, from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.
After which he Proceeded to acquire his Master’s Degree at the University of Benin, Benin City in 1994, and further obtained his Doctorate Degree In the Same institution, 13 years after.
With over 40 academic materials in publication, and several membership of learned bodies such as the Institute of public analyst of Nigeria (IPAN), Chemical society of Nigeria (CSN), Institute of chartered chemist of Nigeria (ICON) amongst others.
Prof. Julius has set the Pace for Lecturers and Students in his field as he engaged in Economy boosting by developing Products for the commercial market. Some of these products includes: Orchad Apple drink, Tamara Orange drink, Softwood liquid black body wash, Softwood hard gel body wash, Ego liquid gel body wash, Ego hard gel body wash,Dr. juiyasele skin and hair cream and Powdered black soap.
Each of these products are certified with NAFDAC registration number.
Speaking on the aftermaths of the Strike, he encouraged Students and Lecturers to Bear the loss and move on without hesitation, assuring that a better future awaits them.
Furthermore, he appealed to the Federal Government to actively prevent further occurrences of Strike and be awakened to the challenges facing the Nigerian Education System, adding that the system ought to be progressing and not retrogressing as Education has majorly contributed to the great Performance of Nigerians and their notable achievements within and outside Africa.
He also declared that, the Federal Government can reach out to him for any required assistance, as he and some of his colleagues are readily available to assist the Government in amplifying Educational Standards.
As a Man of great Integrity, Prof . Iyasele’s exceptional trait( integrity) has been opportune to serve outside the Academic world, when he Served as Ward collation officer for Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Presidential Election 2011, and as Local government collation officer, Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Edo state governorship election, July 14, 2012.
