Those Afraid Of EFCC Are Guilty As Suspected — Bawa

The former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has said that only a guilty suspect will be afraid of visiting the anti-graft agency. Bawa revealed this in an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, published on Monday. The ex-EFCC boss noted that one need not be scared of him or the agency when invited as it was an issue of power and that power belonged to the system. Bawa said, "We are just doing our job and don't want people to panic or fear, and feel free to come to the EFCC with all sense of belonging. "It's just about finding out the facts and what happened. Just come and explain, so why are you scared or afraid? To me, it's a sign that you are guilty as suspected not guilty as charged." A Nigerian mother decided to teach her son a lesson by giving him a Dangote cement sack to use as his school bag.

The woman said she is tired of buying school bags for the boy every term. She said she buys two bags for him each term. A video shows how the boy reacted angrily and refused to go to school. Reacting, @Jennifer said: "I remember when I lost my school bag in nursery 3 two  times before the term ends, my mom gave me her handbag as my new school bag. I cry tire." Subsidy removal: Niger offers free transport services to public schools

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago, has ordered that there’ll be free transportation of government school pupils within the state. This measure, the governor said, is to help ensure that learners have easy access to education, amidst the removal of fuel subsidy by the President Tinubu administration. The governor said, “The free transportation for the children at the basic level of education will encourage pupils to go to school at the basic education level and again cushion the effect of subsidy removal.” Officials of the National Examination Council, led by its registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Prof Ibrahim Wushishi, paid a visit to the Government House, Minna, the state capital. Experts canvass e-learning for children with special needs.

Education experts have called for the adoption and inclusion of e-learning in the teaching of children with special needs. Speaking at the opening of the 34th national conference of the Nigeria Association of Special Education Teachers, Dean of the faculty of education at the University of Ibadan, Olufemi Fakolade, said the introduction of e-learning makes it possible for students with special needs to surmount problems associated with traditional learning. Fakolade, at the conference themed: “Application of e-learning in teaching and learning for learners with special needs in Nigeria,” said: “E-learning supports the inclusion of children with disabilities in education by enabling them to overcome some of the barriers causing their exclusion. “It complements other face-to-face methods and tools, such as teacher training and inclusive pedagogy. Unity Colleges: Parents Appeal To Tinubu To Reverse Increment In School Fees

ABAKALIKI – The Nigerian Parents’ Fo­rum has appealed to Presi­dent Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prevail on the Federal Min­istry of Education to reverse the over 100% increment on fees of Federal Government colleges or Unity Schools, describing the increment as arbitrary, insensitive and ill-timed. The forum also noted that the increment was in­consistent with President Tinubu’s promise of welfare programmes to help Nigeri­an parents cope with the eco­nomic shocks of fuel subsidy removal. The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Andrew David Adejo, who revealed this while speaking to newsmen in Abuja, said already, President Bola Tinubu has approved a committee made up of ministries and agencies to see to the realization of the Students Loan Bill he recently assented to The Students Loan Bill, sponsored by the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, provides for interest-free loans to indigent Nigerian students. Increase in fuel price has a ripple effect on my daily budget.. Nigeria student laments.

Which means that the government is no longer subsidizing the cost of fuel, and as a result, the price of fuel has increased significantly. In an interview with DailyFeed News Reporter,  a Nigerian student who identified herself as Oluwashidara Kenny  lamented that the removal of fuel subsidy has indeed had an impact on her budget and daily expenses.  "This increase in fuel prices has a ripple effect on various aspects of my budget.  Firstly, transportation costs have risen, as public transportation operators and private vehicle owners have to pay more for fuel. This directly affect my daily commute to school, making it more expensive and reducing the amount of money I have available for other expenses".
