Ikhide's Diatribe: A Tragic Case of Self-Unaware Hypocrisy

This descent into invective does little to bridge the divide between differing political perspectives and instead serves as a glaring example of the divisive discourse plaguing contemporary political dialogue. Ikhide's choice to label Ultimate Equal as a "half-baked scoundrel" and a "notorious chronic illiterate" reveals a disconcerting reliance on personal attacks to discredit the individual, rather than engaging with the arguments presented. These pens-for-hire have seemingly compromised the integrity of the written word, transforming their craft into a tool for political manipulation. Once revered as the fourth estate, writers were the fearless crusaders who exposed the truth, allowing citizens to drink from the fountain of knowledge. Yet, the piece by Erasmus Ikhide lamenting the decay of our educational institutions under Godwin Obaseki's administration and him cross carpeting to the political party he writes against begs the question: are political gangster writers undergoing a Kafkaesque metamorphosis?
