48 days to Edo poll: Blessing Agbebaku builds up for Asue Ighodalo in Owan West

As the race for who occupies Edo State's number one finest political stool at Osadebey Avenue hots up, the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, has reassured Edo people of Asue Ighodalo, the Edo PDP governorship candidate's ability to sustain the economic prosperity of the State and place it in the eyes of the world when elected.

He made this known while addressing Uhonmora-Ora ward 2  decampees and  lamented the state of the nation and untold hardship that have become unbearable for the people.

He said, "this is the time to join me to work and also enjoy the dividends of the work done.

"With the economic situation in the country, except you vote for Asue Ighodalo, the Edo PDP candidate, the future is not guaranteed."

"In the past one year, we have given out jobs to our people, we have constructed roads in Owan West,  schools, provided transformers, solar powered street lights and a host of other interventions.

"The one that amazed me was a particular Owan West son I employed into the civil service, whose mother decamped to APC, telling me that if I like, let her son be sacked. No going back on the good we have done. We are good people. I cannot hurt a son because the mother is now against us. My politics is civil and democratic. I am enlightened and rational in thoughts.

"We must do everything possible to make this speakership remain here. "If not that I am the Speaker, Sabongidda-Ora Ugbubezi-Sobe road would not have been influenced and  completed. We are in position to protect interest of the people.

"November this year we are going to capture Avbiosi-Okpokhumi road in the State budget. "These efforts can be sustained when you vote for Asue Ighodalo in the September 21 governorship election.

"Asue is a responsible family man, whose wife is also seen campaigning for him.  Edo people have been seeing Asue's wife campaigning. With Asue, Edo is in safe hands."

Mr. Ujuangbe Ogoigbe , leader APC ward 2 Uhonmora-Ora, a decampee, described the Speaker as "our brother. For the sake of what he has been doing for us in the LGA, we have decided to throw our weight behind Blessing Agbebaku and Asue Ighodalo."

Similarly, Mrs Esther Ifije, unit 7, APC woman leader and a trader, noted that, before now, she was tired of buying batteries to power her lamp in her store, until the Speaker brought solar light to Uhonmora-Ora. Now, I no longer buy batteries and the solar lights speaker brought shine brightly in my store and even extends to my house. For this alone, I had to voluntarily join PDP because of Blessing Agbebaku and his good works."

The PDP Boss in Owan West, Engr. David Okoh-Aigbodion, while  welcoming the decampees into the party, said, "the rate of decampees from Uhonmora-Ora is the highest in the LGA. 

"It shows your love for  him and It is a welcome development. 

"Within a year, you have seen his works and we are feeling his positive impacts. I want to encourage you to continue in this direction.  "On this note, I formally welcome and receive you  into PDP on behalf of the State party Chairman, Dr. Anthony Aziegbemi."
