...as APC appreciation tour reaches Esanland.

The atmosphere in Esanland was filled with joy, excitement and jubilation as the "Thank You Tour" of APC got to Edo Central Senatorial District today to  appreciate the people for their support during the just concluded gubernatorial election in the state.

The train which made the palace of the Onojie of Irrua, HRH, W.O Momodu II and Okaijesan of Esanland as its first port of call, had the Governor elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, thanking the King, his family, palace chiefs and the entire Esan people for their support and votes that cumulated into victory. Senator Monday Okpebholo also re-emphasised his promises during the campaign and assured the king and his palace chiefs of his readiness to swing into action immediately after swearing in.

The king thanked Edo people, the Oba of Benin and Comr. Adams Oshiomhole for supporting a son of Irrua and Esanland to the exalted position of number one citizen of Edo State. The train then moved from the palace to the open field in Okajiesan Town Hall where mammoth crowd from the 51 wards of Edo Central Senatorial District received the Governor-elect and his entourage.

According to the Oshiomhole, who spoke on the need to be magnanimous in victory, "today, we are here to say thank you, we followed your son and brother to say thank you. Thank you for keeping fate. For all you had to go through for our sake, we say thank you. Thank you for voting, Senator Monday Okpebholo, thank you for voting APC. However, this is a time to reunite, we are not concerned about how people voted during the election or those who voted PDP, let us carry everyone along, we want to reunite the party and the state and work together as one."

Hon. Dennis Idahosa, who took the microphone after Comrade Oshiomhole, said, "today, your own son is Governor-elect. He is going to be sworn in on the 12th of November. We thank you all for your votes. We thank the security agents for protecting lives and properties and ensuring there was no breakdown of law and order before, during, and after the election. We also thank the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a very free and fair election which is adjudged one of the most credible in our history."

Akpakomiza, while speaking in the midst of chant and praises, said, "I'm here to thank my people. I'm here to thank Edo people for voting for me. I want to assure you that the next step is to set development in motion. In our first 100 days in office, we should have fixed about 200 schools in Edo state. I am reassuring you that I am going to declare "State of Emergency" on road infrastructure in the state. I will not waste time, I will set the ball rolling immediately I'm sworn in because this is the time for development, and I will develop Edo state. Thank you once more, and God Bless you all".
