And the mean girl vibes don't suit her at all. It seems she won't be able to maintain her hide-and-seek lifestyle anymore. "Femicide, the intentional killing of women and girls because they are female, is a serious crime that is on the rise in Nigeria. It often stems from ongoing patterns of violence against women, driven by deep-rooted beliefs that men should have control over women." “In Nigeria, until they start feeling ill, they don’t go to the hospital. So, until we get to that point where everybody knows that once a year, I should check myself irrespecti...

If Oga Wants Edo, Oga Must Get It

Image
The recent events unfolding in Edo State have brought to light a series of grave concerns regarding the democratic process and the well-being of its people. The promise made by Asiwauju to weaponize poverty and manipulate the citizens by inducing them with meager sums of 5,000 to 10,000 Naira, alongside his co-conspirators Alibaba and the 40 'thieves,' is a distressing revelation.  This orchestrated plan aimed at exploiting the less fortunate members of society for political gain is a direct attack on the principles of democracy and the sanctity of the electoral process. While it may be tempting to sympathize with Governor Obaseki amidst these troubling times, we must remember that he, too, played a role in setting the stage for the current state of affairs.  It is essential to acknowledge that his complacency and involvement in similar political gamesmanship have contributed to the dire situation faced by the Edo people today. Therefore, he must bear the consequences of his ac...

Karma, Retribution fight back at PDP -Dr. Eholor

Image
The law of retribution which is simply defined as what you sow you reap is what played out at the the Edo Governorship poll. This is a game of what you give you get and you will never understand the damage you did to someone until the same thing is done to you. That’s why I’m here. ~Karma.  I don't understand why anybody from PDP will talk about APC rigging the local government election, they are the masters of rigging and they thought APC what they know and using against them today. I am sure we have not forgotten what happened in the last local government elections even the House of Assembly election at Egor constituency, as it was recorded that Labour Party won but was manipulated by PDP. Chief of staff Osaigbovo Iyoha crying about results being manufactured and for those of you who voted for the rogue party's remember, every sin carries its own punishment. However, do not cry  when you are facing the harsh reality for selling your votes. I’m Chief Dr Patrick Osagie ...

Flood: Maiduguri sinks in water flood, needs government to rescue

Image
Few days ago in the city of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, Nigeria, a lot of people were in luxury, in so much abundance and ambience, before the tragic event of the flooding. Before that day, alot of people were deciding amongst multiple food items which to eat, multiple clothes which to wear, multiple cars which to drive, multiple malls which to go for shopping, multiple route which to take, multiple this and multiple that. It's sickening for must of those people to wake up on Tuesday morning without a cloth to wear, food to eat, car to drive not even a house to pass just a night as everything were whisked between the hours of 2am-5am. I am very sure most of the victims never saw their houses, cars, food items etc washed away before their eyes without any will to do anything about it. Tuesday 10th September, seem cruel as the whole city was on her feet as to what and where to find rescue. People saw their love ones yanked from their hands by the force of the flood as they...

VP, Eight Govs, Oba Of Benin, Ayiri and others shutdown Edo for Okpebolo

Image
The UNIBEN Sports Ground was transformed into a sea of humanity, as an unprecedented multitude converged to witness history unfold. The electrifying atmosphere reverberated with an unmistakable message: the tide has turned, and the PDP's fate is sealed. In a striking parallel to the ancient tale of Esau and Jacob, two brothers vying for paternal blessing, the APC and PDP engaged in their own struggle for supremacy. Monday Okpebholo, the APC's standard-bearer, received the royal blessing at the palace, symbolizing divine endorsement. Meanwhile, the PDP, embodied by Esau's restless spirit, wandered through the Garrick Memorial forest, grasping for a fleeting chance. Their quest, however, was doomed from the start. As the biblical narrative unfolds, Esau's delay proved costly, and Jacob secured the irreversible blessing. Today, the PDP's belated emergence from the 'forest' finds them facing an insurmountable reality: the blessing has been bestowed upon Jacob. ...

President Tinubu’s decisive leadership on security

Image
By Fredrick Nwabufo  It takes decisive leadership to roll back the forays of terror. Terror understands the language of terror. The recent successful operations of Nigeria’s security forces across the country bear a defining mark of resolute leadership. On Thursday, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji made a quick delivery. They dispatched terrorist leader, Halilu Sububu, and his gang of death-dealers in a five-star caravan of wry irony to the netherworld.    Bandit leader Sububu had risen in notoriety with the savagery he dealt on citizens in Zamfara, Sokoto, and other parts of north-western Nigeria. He was loud, imperious, and brutal, issuing threats and making crowing pronouncements on videos. Lives have been lost, communities displaced, property destroyed, and citizens maimed by the sheer industry of Sububu and his gang. The troops also scored another victory, neutralising Sani Wala Burki, kin of Sububu in the terror business, and his gang, as well as extirpated a terror...

Edo 2024: PDP declines signing of Peace Accord, accuses police of partiality

Image
…lists conditions for participation in signing of peace pact The Edo State’s chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declined the signing of the Peace Accord organized by National Peace Committee (NPC) to ensure peaceful elections, accusing the police who are the agency responsible for enforcing the accord of partiality. The party, through its chairman, Dr. Anthony Aziegbemi, said it would result to mere jamboree entering a peace accord with an umpire who, from the onset, has shown bias, acting in the interest of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and waging war against the PDP. The PDP decried that since the commencement of the electioneering process in the State, the steps taken by the Police has shown that they are one-sided, adding that “In the course of preparations for this election however, strange and disturbing new elements have been introduced in particular by a Party that has apparently reached the conclusion that it cannot prevail in a free, fair and peaceful ele...

Statement on School Resumption Date Extension

Image
In light of recent events, we have decided to extend the school resumption date to ensure the safety and well-being of our children.  This decision is rooted in our deep commitment to protecting our children from all forms of danger including the possible consequences of the astronomical increase in the price of fuel as well as the concomitant increase in cost of living.  We are also mindful of the intelligence report we received about the threats posed by the APC, who have reportedly imported and armed thugs that are causing mayhem across the state. Because the safety of our children is paramount we do not want to take any chances hence we are keeping our children in the safety of their homes until we difuse the situation sortly.   The APC's actions, including their reckless behaviour that has resulted in the shooting of innocent individuals, raise serious alarms. We believe that these actions are part of a desperate strategy to instigate a state of emergency and sh...
